Win a sewing course to learn to make a cushion or a curtain from The Old School Club.
And the Winner is Lorraine Cooper – Congratulations!
I love art and crafty type projects, my most recent project being a patchwork quilt that I made for my niece. It was extremely tricky and I would’ve loved some guidance as I was a total beginner and maybe trying to make something without a pattern or previous experience was in hindsight possibly not the best idea. However, it did turn out well in the end, twitter being my saving grace with lots of lovely people offering advice.
Crafting, mending or modifying seems to be the done thing these days. Buying or making handmade goods seems much more thoughtful and appealing as gifts both giving or receiving. Not all of us have a natural talent where making is concerned and that’s where The Old School Club steps in.
The Old School Club offers a wide variety of courses including sewing, quilting, Knitting and even knicker making! Whether you just want to learn the basics in alterations so that you can take up the hem on a pair of trousers, or you want to learn something more complicated like a Home Revamp.
This is a really exciting prize. One lucky winner will win a course to make either a cushion or a curtain worth £40. No experience is necessary for the cushion making, but basic sewing machine skills are needed for the curtain project.
The Old School Club is based in Battersea and they offer the use of their machines plus coffee so that you can work on your own projects or of course to complete one of the many projects they have on offer. More appealing is that they offer a crèche service (for under 1’s)!!
