And the Winner is…… Sarah Anguish – Congratulations
Win a Sweet Shop Jar from Hope & Greenwood
A jar full of lovely sweetiness that will take you on a trip down memory lane with sweets such as Dib Dabs, Flying Saucers and Drumstick lollies.
When I happened across this site whilst writing our Halloween Goodies post it took me right back to when I was a kid with their fantastic range of ‘retro sweets’ including some of my favourites such as Sherbet Fountains, Flying Saucers and Cola Bottles.
The best way to eat a Sherbet fountain is to eat the liquorice separately first, tip your head back and pour as much sherbet in as you can. If you’re lucky (or so I thought) it would tickle the back of your throat leading you to cough a white sherbet cloud. The result is that you end up with a huge frothy, sweet sherbety mass in your mouth. Mmmmmm. I used to get told off every time!
If you’re looking for stocking filler ideas, then the separate bags of sweets in all varieties are perfect or you can choose from their mouthwatering selection of Sweet Hampers and not forgetting the Christmas Sweet Selection which includes everything from Candy Canes to Christmas Truffles.
“At Hope and Greenwood we get very excited about The Best of British confectionery. Miss Hope and Mr Greenwood believe that confectionery should be as gorgeous as a pair of posh knickers or your favourite perfume. We also like inventing new sweets such as Sugar Plums, Fizz! Bang! Wallops! and Foaming Blue Cherries, because we don’t like sleeping much and who needs social life anyway?”

Pop over to Hope and Greenwood and leave us a comment telling me your favorite childhood sweet and why.

I love Rhubarb and Custard – an all time favourite of mine
Definitely Dip Dabs although our Mum was never happy about the mess – not easy balancing a mound of sherbert on that lolly!
