This year will be the first year for a few that we are not hosting our Christmas Advent Calendar Competitions.
I would loved to have hosted it again this year with great competitions and highlighted some fantastic businesses and great gift finds, but with the new site still not up and running much to our dismay it seemed like a task too far. More news on that hopefully in the next few days.
However, fear not. With the time that I’ve spent getting the new site just so I’m taking a bit (or as much as possible in the lead up to Christmas) of time to spend with my kids to make our Family Christmas a memorable time for them. So instead of Competitions, I thought Christmas Crafts would be a great idea not only to do with my kids but also to give you some inspiration and ideas to make with your own children.
Pop along everyday this month up until the Big Day and see what we’re up to.

Soon I promise…..a New Website for www.babynotincluded.co.uk
So I know that I’ve been telling you on facebook and twitter that the new site is on the verge of going live, but aside from the technical difficulties that I have been plagued with my daughter has been ill.
The first day of the half-term holiday she developed spots on the base of her neck and back, but she was fine in herself. After a quite unsatisfactory trip to the doctors, we were told they were non-descriptive and could be viral. Give her Calpol and keep her away from other children just in case that they’re contageous.
So housebound we have been for the past week. You would think that having all that time at home would be productive, but then you wouldn’t have met my daughter. She doesn’t do playing on her Own and even the suggestion that I might open my laptop means that she’s in need of cuddles etc….
But the evenings….I have the evenings to work as usual. NO….because the itching has started and the inability to sleep has kicked in. Unless of course this is tangled around Mummy. So each and every day for the past week I’ve woken up with a face full of curly hair and a dead arm!!
Mid-week she starts to show signs that despite what the doctor said that it is undeniably chickenpox. The spots have blossomed across her back, tummy and face. She’s itching like crazy and has a raging temperature.
So we now have a regime of Calpol, anti-histimine and Calamine cream to fend off as many symptoms as possible.
By Friday the spots have started to dry up and no more are developing. Apparently crusty spots mean that they’re ready to pick (3yo analysis).
We start to see the light as the end of the tunnel and the possibility of leaving the house on Saturday having been housebound since Monday.
Cue the raging cough and cold!!!
So, she’s spotty, snotty and coughing like a 50 a day smoker.
SLEEP is all is needed in this house by all, but with the itching, sneezing, coughing and crying it seem’s like a distant memory.
We are starting (only just) to come out of this fog of illness, and I WILL get the new site up soon.
