Leftover Turkey Recipes

Leftover Turkey Recipes – It seems weird to think that all our energies have been focused on Christmas and poof it’s been and gone.

We like everybody spent a fortune on Christmas Presents, food and drink to ensure that we had a great time with the family. As with most families we overstocked our fridge and cupboards and now have enough food to feed the whole street (there’s an idea). Maybe we should all have post-christmas street parties!

We have an abundant amount of turkey leftover and I’m loathed to let it go to waste so here are a few recipes that I found to use up your Christmas Turkey.

From trusty old BBC Good Food I found Turkey Cacciatore with a twist for all you pasta lovers.

A Turkey and Ham Pie is probably the one that I’m going to go for from Good To Know as it’s quite versatile and you can bung in lots of veg depending what you have.

Good Ole Jameie Oliver came up with this Asian-inspired Turkey Salad if you’re looking for something a bit different.

How does Perky Turkey sound? You’ll have to pop over and have a look!

And what about Leftover Turkey with Peas and Leeks from I Love British Turkey.

Mmmm a Turkey and Squash Casserole sounds nice from Delicious Magazine.

Risotto is something that I’ve never cooked, but here’s a recipe for Turkey Risotto from Kate on Thin Ice.

If you have any of your own feel free to add a comment and a link to share your ideas.

Win a Baba+Boo Reusable Nappy Gift Set

advent_calendar

Winner – Becky Downey – Congratulations!

Well we’ve made it past the end of the world and this is the last of our Christmas Advent Calendar Competitions, and what a way to end it.

Just two years ago when Isabelle was born was made the decision to use cloth nappies. This received a variety of reactions, including disgust at the thought of having to wash the dirty nappies. However, once I started using them and friends and family saw how simple and like disposable nappies that cloth were they soon changed their minds. Since then at playgroups and baby groups there are more and more mums making the decision to use cloth.

I was told that I would become rather addicted to cloth which I dismissed until new ranges of colours and prints became available and I just wanted them all. Baba+Boo have a great range of reusable nappies in a variety of prints and colours to suit your needs. You can choose from the Classic range or the exclusive range which includes my favourite which is Master Frog.

Baba+Boo are so confident in their nappies that you can give a nappy a trial and if you’re not completely satisfied you can return the nappy and get 70% of the cost back.

As well as nappies they have a lovely range of nappy accessories, Bibs, Shoes, Hair Accessories and Hats. New to the brand are the Reusable Nappy Gift Sets which is a Reusable Nappy and matching Long Sleeve T-shirt. This is a fab New Baby Gift for a new mum embarking on their cloth journey.

Baba+Boo have just launched a great new idea to help mums who would like to work flexibly around their children. If you are a cloth user and are constantly recommended reusable nappies to friends and mums at playgroups then this is for you. You can become a Baba+Boo Clothee Break Agent which will give you the chance to earn some extra cash by chatting to Parents to be and New mums about the benefit of using reusable nappies.

So onto the competition. You have the chance to Win one of Baba+Boo’s Fab Reusable Nappy Gift Sets in the size and style of your choice. My favourite is definitely the Master Frog.

Win a First Years Buzzing Massaging Teether in Yellow!

Winner – Andra MacLeod – Congratulations!

This is quite a funky teether. When your baby chomps down on the antenna part of the bee it vibrates offering some comfort from teething pain.

It comes in pink and yellow and we’re offering the yellow one as today’s prize.

We had a quick dash into town yesterday and went up really early which meant we were there waiting for the doors to open. I’m so glad that I did that as it was fairly quiet and I got so much more done that it we’d left it until later in the day. I think, and hope that we have finished our shopping. Just the food to go and buy this evening (not looking forward to that).

Win a Sugar Pink Pettiskirt from www.enchantedwishes.co.uk

Winner – Tanya Cameron – Congratulations!

All little girls like Pink and Princesses and Dolls. This is true for most, and as a small child I do remember liking pink, but I also remember cutting all the hair off my dolls, and of my friends doll (her mum was not impressed) to make them into boy dolls. You see I wasn’t a girly girl, but I was more into outdoor stuff and sports. As I grew older I was into make-up, hair and impulse body spray as much as the next teenage girl but pink just wasn’t my colour.

As I got older I became a ‘red’ girl. If I want to feel girly then I wear red and have a selection of red things including dresses, shoes, bags etc. When I was pregnant with my daughter we didn’t know the sex of the baby but I was adamant that if I had a girl she would not be a pink baby. Isabelle was born and still my aversion to pink remained and I was quite vocal that I didn’t want pink clothing for her. All of the toys, clothes and bedding were neutral colours with the inclusion of reds, greens and purples but definitely no PINK. Inevitably she was given lots of pink things and it bothered me less.

As time went on I felt more comfortable with pink and even started to buy pink clothing. At two years old Isabelle is a total Girly Girl and loves everything pink, princesses and dolls. She’s even changed me and now I’m the one picking out all of the girly stuff. It’s funny to think how adamant I was that she wasn’t going to be a pink girl and now we live in the world of pink. I even bought her her first petticoat dress for her second birthday which she looked totally adorable in!

I take back what I say as I plummet deeper and deeper into the world of fluffy, pink, fairies, princesses and sparkles and love every minute of it.

I was thrilled when I happened upon www.enchantedwishes.co.uk where you can find a gorgeous selection of Dressing-up costumes, books, beautiful jewellery boxes and petticoat skirts. This site is full of stuff from little girls dreams.

Enchanted Wishes is run by a mum of three little girls who are the inspiration behind the business and having only been running since October 2012 this is their first Christmas!

The Sugar Pink Pettiskirt is available in Small (1 – 3 years) and Medium (4 – 6 years).

Hands up if you can relate to this?

My daughter is like a Duracell Bunny and never stops. She’s on the go all day every day and isn’t much of a sleeper at night. Even when she is asleep she’s a very restless sleeper.

You either love or hate slogan clothes and I quite like a bit of tonngue in cheek fun when it comes to baby clothes.
